Spoil Royale ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

  1. Information We Collect
    • A. Account Information
      When you create an account using Google or Apple login, we may receive:
      • Email address
      • Unique authentication provider ID
      • Basic profile information (if provided)
      We do not receive or store your password.
    • B. Age Verification Information
      During account creation, we ask you to provide your date of birth to verify that you meet the minimum age requirement (18 years old). We store this date of birth as part of your account record. Users who indicate they are under 18 are not permitted to create an account.
    • C. User-Generated Information
      • Public display username
      • Gameplay statistics
      • Progress and challenge completion
      • Reports submitted about other users (including the content of the report)
      Usernames are publicly visible to other players.
    • D. Voice and Video Communications
      If you enable voice or video chat features:
      • Voice and video streams are transmitted live and in real time through our third-party infrastructure provider, LiveKit, to other users in your lobby.
      • Spoil does not record, store, or process the contents of voice or video streams. Streams are pass-through only.
      • LiveKit transmits the streams between users. LiveKit's handling of stream data is governed by their own privacy practices, available at livekit.io.
      • Spoil does not use any artificial intelligence or automated tools to monitor, analyze, or moderate the contents of voice or video streams.
      • Other users in your lobby can see and hear you in real time while voice and video are enabled.
      Connection metadata (such as the fact that you joined a voice/video session, session start and end times, and lobby identifiers) may be retained for service operation, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
    • E. Automatically Collected Information
      • IP address
      • Device and browser information
      • Log data
      • Cookies and session data
    • F. Marketing Preferences
      If you opt in, we collect your consent to receive promotional emails.
    • G. Payment Information (If Enabled)
      If in-game purchases are offered:
      • Payments are processed by third-party providers (e.g., Stripe)
      • We do not store credit card numbers
      • We may retain transaction identifiers and purchase history
  2. How We Use Information
    We use information to:
    • Provide and maintain the game
    • Authenticate users
    • Verify age eligibility
    • Display usernames publicly
    • Track gameplay progress
    • Enable real-time voice and video communications between users
    • Process purchases
    • Send transactional emails
    • Send marketing emails (if you opt in)
    • Review user reports and enforce our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines
    • Prevent fraud and abuse
    • Improve performance and analytics
    • Comply with legal obligations, including reporting requirements under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A
  3. Third-Party Service Providers
    We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:
    • Google and Apple — authentication
    • LiveKit — real-time voice and video transmission (streams are not recorded by Spoil)
    • Stripe (if/when purchases are enabled) — payment processing
    • Google Analytics — usage analytics
    These providers process information on our behalf or independently according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies.
  4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
    If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal bases include:
    • Performance of a contract (providing the Service)
    • Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improvement, enforcement of our Terms)
    • Consent (marketing communications, optional voice/video features)
    • Legal obligation (mandatory reporting under applicable law)
  5. Marketing Communications
    You may opt in to receive promotional emails.
    You may unsubscribe at any time by:
    • Clicking the unsubscribe link in emails
    • Contacting us directly
    Transactional emails (account notices, receipts, reports of enforcement actions) may still be sent.
  6. Data Retention
    We retain personal information:
    • While your account is active
    • As needed to provide services
    • As required by law (e.g., financial records)
    • As needed to enforce our Terms or address abuse (e.g., records related to banned accounts and reports)
    Voice and video streams are not retained. Connection metadata may be retained for a reasonable period for service operation and abuse prevention.
    You may request deletion at any time.
  7. Account Deletion
    You may delete your account through your account settings or by contacting us.
    Upon deletion:
    • Account data will be removed from active systems
    • Certain records may be retained if legally required or necessary for fraud and abuse prevention
    • Backup copies may persist temporarily
    Deleting your Spoil account does not delete your Google or Apple account.
  8. Children's Privacy
    Spoil Royale is intended for users 18 years of age or older.
    We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. We ask for date of birth during account creation to enforce this. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it and terminate the account.
